Spiders generally get a bad press. People are scared of them and their long-haired otherness. This is unfortunate, as the Black Spiders are one of the most interesting English rock bands currently touring the U.K.

The gloriously heavy Sheffield five-piece kicked off their U.K. tour on Thursday, in their home town, to promote their new album; This Savage Land.

I caught them last night in Manchester where they tore the club Academy to shreds. The tour continues tonight in Newcastle with further dates in Glasgow (6 Oct), Birmingham (8 Oct), Bristol (9 Oct), Southampton (10 Oct) and finally London (11 Oct).

If you get the chance, go get caught up in their sticky web and let them inject you with their venom.
